COP26: Over 30,000 join youth climate strike

Running Time: 11:58

Over 30,000 people joined the youth climate strike at the COP26 in Glasgow, which the students used to give a platform to the many indigenous activists and other groups who had been excluded from the talks, with Greta Thunberg speaking alongside them as well as striking refuse workers.

The students struck again on the final day of the talks – and in unprecedented scenes, hundreds of delegates walked out of the talks to join them in disgust at the lack of action from world leaders.

The message is clear from everybody – we cannot stop climate change without radical system change and an end to capitalism, colonialism and white supremacy. That is why the COP process will never deliver – but Glasgow showed that a huge movement of movements is building, with the collective power to change everything ourselves.
