On August 20th, ACORN the Union conducted their largest ever National Day of Action against the companies and politicians complicit in driving down living standards in the UK – utility companies, bailiffs, councils and landlords.
In London, ACORN’s target was Greystar, a giant American corporate landlord that has been using algorithms to drive up rents across the city. Blocked from entering the company’s offices, ACORN members instead publicly condemned Greystar’s role in the cost of living crisis.
ACORN members living in Greystar properties in Elephant & Castle have had enough; when Greystar buy your building, the rent skyrockets and the quality of service plummets.
