Palestine Global Day of Action: UK universities walk out

Running Time: 6mins 4 secs

LSE, SOAS and King’s College in central London were among the more than 20 universities and colleges across the country where students and staff walked out in solidarity with the Palestinian people on Palestine Global Day of Action. All three London universities came together at LSE to take part in a die in to remember the thousands of victims of Israel’s ongoing genocide.

Another major issue is the shutting down of protest in UK universities – particularly at SOAS, where five students are still suspended after simply taking part in a demonstration for a ceasefire on campus on October 9. As one of the students says, “There is a very chilling, very intense restriction of freedom of speech on this campus”. You can help by signing the petition to lift the suspensions at https://linktr.ee/soaspalestinesociety – and follow SOAS Palestine Society on social media to support further action.
