Running time: 3 mins 19 secs
The Duke of Devonshire’s exclusive Mayfair bookshop – booksellers to the Royal Family – was occupied this Maundy Thursday as fury grows over his decision to raise rents to Irish farmers from £500 to £5,000 – a rise of 900%.
His ancestors stole this land back in 1753, and this ludicrous rent rise will force farmers off the land that they have cultivated for hundreds of years.
Presumably he’s short of a few bob seeing as he’s only worth £900 million but this action shows that his substantial portfolio of properties will be targeted more and more if he goes through with this barbaric act – and he might find people not being as polite as they were here.
The next action in London will be outside the Irish Embassy the week after Easter week – this description will be updated with details as soon as they’re confirmed, so check back here after Easter. Slán agus beannacht!
