Royal Mail subsidiary, eCourier, are classifying most of their couriers as “Independent Contractors” – so that they can unlawfully deny them the basic employment rights of a living wage, sick pay, holidays, pension and union recognition. eCourier have already lost a tribunal brought by the IWGB union where they admitted that one of their bike couriers was a worker – but now the couriers have been forced to take strike action to get them to stop operating iunlawfully.
