Supporters of the Birmingham binworkers – on strike for over a year now trying to stop an 8K a year cut in their pay – disrupted two of the city’s three refuse depots for the second day in a row this morning. Both pickets had increased numbers, and Perry Barr was held for nearly six hours – the longest picket by supporters so far.
It’s clear that the strike – and the support – is growing by the day. It’s set to get even stronger with hundreds expected to StrikeMap’s Megapicket3 on Friday, and more agency staff walking out to join the strike.
