Maintenance scaffolders at British Steel are going on all out strike for the next 12 weeks, in one of the most important disputes in the UK currently. All they are asking for is for Actavo, the company their work is contracted out to, to pay national agreed NAECI rates for scaffolding. Actavo are refusing (despite their owner being a billionaire), and British Steel have locked them out, claiming there’s no work (despite four other companies doing scaffolding work on site AND being paid proper rates). Now the scaffies have had enough – and UNITE the Union is putting all their resources behind the dispute, promising to make life hell for the bosses until they do the decent thing. #TimeToAct #PayTheRate
