Birmingham: Thousands march in support striking binworkers

Running time: 2 mins 17 secs

Thousands of people hit the streets of Birmingham, organised in a matter of days from nothing, to support binworkers on all out strike against an eye-watering £8,000 a year pay cut.

The stark reality is simple: that Birmingham Labour have seriously underestimated the palpable anger of residents in the city at the pain and brutality their council are inflicting on innocent, hard working Brummies.

As one speaker said; this working class city was built on blood, sweat & tears, not suits, shirts and ties. Residents’ support was key to winning the Coventry binworkers strike; this march shows that Birmingham binworkers have the support they need to win too.
